Corporate water stewardship services
Bluerisk offers water analytics, strategy, implementation, and consulting services.
Analytics
Turn water data into actionable insights.
Key services areas:
- Water risk assessment and prioritization: locate, evaluate, and assess water dependencies, impacts, risks, and opportunities, at specific locations, or across the entire value chain, today and into the future. Identify priorities based on water-related financial materiality and value at risk
- Physical climate and water risk modeling: evaluate long-term water supply variability and hazard-asset-specific vulnerabilities under different climate conditions using CMIP6-based future projections on monthly water supply, demand, and stress. Use probabilistic models and uncertainty ranges to help communicate the range of potential outcomes over the next 10 to 15 years
- Water valuation and financial materiality: use practical, quantitative approaches to estimate the full value of water to the business and society and make the business case for action on water. Understand the business and societal return on investment (ROI and SROI), informed by water-related risks to the business, business-related water impacts on society, and the cost of solutions
Strategy
Develop impactful water strategies to manage water risk and build resilience.
Key services areas:
- Water strategy development: to design effective water strategies to manage water as a shared strategic resource in ways that: are tailored to the value chain water context, risks, and opportunities; address key business drivers and priorities; leverage existing programs (e.g., climate, energy, regenerative agriculture); and drive on-the-ground actions that build long-term water security, business resilience, and brand value
- Water goals and target setting: to set water targets and goals for key focus areas, informed by the local catchment context and business priorities. Define specific tracking and reporting metrics, methods, and KPIs, including consolidation at the enterprise level, to support the successful execution of the water strategy
- Water program design: to develop a high-level action plan or roadmap to identify key internal and external actions required to meet the water targets and goals. Define suggested milestones, timelines, estimate cost ranges, and links to potential functional responsibilities in ways that promote buy-in and alignment throughout the company
Implementation
Drive meaningful actions on-the-ground.
Key services areas:
- Watershed diagnostics: to understand a watershed’s geographic, environmental, social, and economic conditions; identify key stakeholders and communities; assess current and emerging shared water challenges and their root causes; and review existing water stewardship efforts to guide strategic goals and priority actions
- Project discovery and development: to identify and recommend watershed projects and partners that support the company’s water goals while improving water security and business resilience, aligned with local community and watershed priorities
- Volumetric Water Benefit Quantification and Reporting: to estimate the benefits of water stewardship projects in ways that support credible, relevant, and long-term value and enable strong, impactful claims
Estimated cost range:
-
$1,800 to $6,000 per project
-
$30,000 to $150,000 per program

Service FAQs
Can you work with our existing consultants or internal team?
Yes. We often collaborate with existing partners or augment your internal team. If you have consultants who need water expertise, we can provide technical support and guidance.
Do you provide ongoing support after a project ends?
Yes, through on-demand support contracts we provide ongoing support to our clients during post-project phases or during program implementation. Many clients benefit from additional support as they implement their water strategy, respond to stakeholder questions, or adapt to new business drivers, priorities, and challenges. We stay connected to help ensure your work on water continues to be relevant, resilient, and delivers value.
Do we need to have water data before we start?
No. Part of our work is figuring out what data you need and helping you collect it. If you have data, great — we'll use it. If you don't, we'll help you build the right foundation. Don't let a lack of data stop you from getting started.
What size companies do you typically work with?
Mostly Fortune 500 companies and large multinationals, but we also work with mid-sized companies where water is critical to their business. What matters isn't the company size — it's whether the water your company depends on, today or in the future, is at risk.
Do you require site visits, or can you work remotely?
Most of our work can be done remotely through video workshops and collaboration. Site visits can be valuable for complex watershed assessments or building relationships with facility and/or project teams, but they're not always necessary. We can recommend what makes sense for your project and budget.
Can Bluerisk help find meaningful water restoration and replenishment projects?
Yes, through our extensive network of project developers and implementers we assist companies across the globe with identifying high-value water restoration and replenishment projects that align with their replenishment goals.
